缅北强奸

At 缅北强奸, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) enables students to use a personal laptop as an integral part of their learning journey. We believe that when students learn with a device they know well and use regularly, they are better equipped to engage, collaborate, and manage their learning. All students are required to bring an approved device to school each day to ensure they can fully participate in classroom activities and learning opportunities.

BYOD Requirements

To ensure every student has a reliable and consistent learning experience, devices used at 缅北强奸 must meet a set of minimum requirements. These help ensure compatibility with College systems, support modern teaching and learning applications, and reduce disruptions caused by outdated or underpowered devices.

At 缅北强奸, we have four basic requirements:

Laptop Form Factor

Students must use a laptop or clamshell-style device with a physical keyboard and either Windows or macOS as the operating system.

Suitable devices include:

  • Apple MacBook models
  • Windows laptops from major manufacturers
  • Microsoft Surface Laptop and Surface Pro devices

Devices that are not supported include:

  • iPads, Galaxy Tabs, and other tablet-only devices
  • Chromebooks
  • Linux-based devices

For optimal performance throughout a student's time at the College, we recommend a minimum of 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage.

All-Day Battery Life

Students are expected to arrive each day with a fully charged device. As charging facilities are not available during the school day, laptops should provide at least 10 hours of battery life under normal use.

Given that battery performance naturally declines over time, families are encouraged to choose a device with the longest battery life possible, ideally 16 hours or more, to ensure reliable operation throughout the device lifespan.

Modern Wireless Connectivity

All devices must support 5GHz Wi-Fi standard. For the best experience on the College's high-speed wireless network, devices with a minimum of Wi-Fi 6 capability are strongly recommended.

This ensures students can reliably access online learning resources, cloud services, and digital collaboration tools across the campus.

Microsoft Intune Enrolment

All student BYOD devices must be enrolled in Microsoft Intune, the College's device and security management platform.

Intune streamlines device setup and enables:

  • Secure access to College wireless networks
  • Automatic configuration of required settings
  • Access to College-provided applications and resources
  • Ongoing management of BYOD services and support

By enrolling their device, students can quickly and securely connect to the digital tools and services that support learning at 缅北强奸.

Choosing a BYOD Device

缅北强奸 provides families with flexibility when selecting a student laptop. You may choose to purchase a new device through the College's preferred supplier, purchase from a retailer of your choice, or use an existing laptop that meets the College's BYOD requirements.

Purchase Through Our Preferred Education Partner

缅北强奸 has partnered with JB Hi-Fi Education to provide families with access to a curated range of education-ready BYOD devices at competitive education pricing.

JB Hi-Fi Education Portal

The devices available through the portal have been selected for their suitability in a school environment and typically include benefits such as:

  • Durable designs suited to everyday student use
  • Education-focused warranty and support options
  • Optional accidental damage protection plans
  • Convenient delivery to home or a nominated JB Hi-Fi store

These devices are configured to meet the College's BYOD requirements and provide a straightforward purchasing experience for families.

Purchase from a Retailer of Your Choice

Families are welcome to purchase a laptop from any retailer, provided the device meets the minimum requirements outlined above.

When comparing devices, we encourage families to consider not only the hardware specifications but also the level of warranty and support provided. Many consumer laptops include a standard return-to-base warranty, which may differ from the support options available through our education partner.

For purchases made from other retail outlets, families may wish to explore:

  • Extended warranty options
  • Accidental damage protection
  • Insurance cover for loss, theft, or damage

In some cases, these protections may be available through existing home and contents insurance policies.

Use an Existing Laptop

Students may use an existing laptop, provided it meets the College's current BYOD requirements.

Families should confirm that the device:

  • Meets the minimum hardware specifications
  • Supports the required wireless standards
  • Runs a supported version of Windows or macOS
  • Can be successfully enrolled into Microsoft Intune
  • Provides sufficient battery life to last the entire school day

Older devices may experience reduced battery performance, slower operation, or compatibility limitations that can impact the learning experience. As students are expected to bring a fully charged device to school each day, battery health should be carefully considered when assessing the suitability of an existing laptop.

Software Requirements

Most software required for the BYOD program is either provided by the College or available free of charge.

BYOD Device Security

Students must have appropriate security software installed on their laptop. This may include antivirus or endpoint protection software.

Many Windows and Mac devices already include built-in security features, while families may choose to install a third-party security solution based on their preferences. In these situations, the College recommends SOPHOS Endpoint Protection. Regardless of the solution chosen, all student BYOD devices, whether Windows or Mac, must have active and up-to-date endpoint protection installed.

Software Provided by the College

缅北强奸 provides students with access to Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other tools such as OneNote and Copilot.

Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop, Pemiere Pro, etc are also available to students where required, and can be requested for free via the Student Portal.

Additional Software

From time to time, teachers and ICT Services may require students to install additional applications, browsers, or utilities to support classroom learning.

Information about any additional software, including download links and installation instructions, is available through 缅北强奸 ICT Services.

Setting up your Laptop for School

Microsoft Intune Device Enrolment

To ensure a smooth BYOD experience, all student devices must be enrolled in Microsoft Intune, the College's device and security management platform.

Enrolling a device allows it to be automatically configured for use at 缅北强奸, providing secure access to College services, applications, and wireless networks. We recommend completing the enrolment process at home before the device is brought to school.

Once enrolment is complete, the device will automatically receive the settings, applications, and configurations required for classroom use.

What Intune Does

Microsoft Intune helps prepare and manage student BYOD devices by:

  • Configuring access to the College Wi-Fi network
  • Setting up College email and Microsoft 365 services
  • Providing access to approved applications and software
  • Automatically installing required BYOD software
  • Allowing students to remove their device from Intune if required
  • Providing remote reset capabilities for lost or stolen devices
  • Displaying applications and software deployed through Intune
  • Providing limited device information to 缅北强奸 ICT Services, such as device name, model, serial number, manufacturer, and operating system version

What Intune Does Not Do

Microsoft Intune is designed to manage access to College services, not monitor personal activity. It:

  • Does not monitor how students use their device
  • Does not track a student's location
  • Does not collect information about personal applications
  • Does not remove personal applications or files

How to Enrol Your Device

Enrolling a BYOD device is straightforward and typically requires only the installation of the Intune Company Portal app, followed by signing in with the student's 缅北强奸 account.

We encourage students to complete the enrolment process themselves, with parent assistance if required, as this helps them become familiar with the technology they will use throughout their learning journey.

Detailed enrolment instructions are provided below.
